Macro what???

I've been meaning to ask this question... This stuff grows so slow coraline grows over it.. It's so coarse that it can't be broken off with your hand, you'll pull the whole rock out the tank... I now have 2 patches that have grown from a 1" piece 2 years ago to a 2" by 2" area,,, 2 years later... Coraline has always grown over it... It never curls up like chaeto either...
Let me know...

I knocked the coraline off for the pic.. But it remains green under the coraline, and was totally covered except the tips...

What is this Macro algae?? Has anyone else seen this growing in their system???

I've have, and had, pieces of it on rocks but it has never grown. None of fish or inverts have ever eaten it either. It's almost like wire as opposed to plant material.

Yep that's it it has grown about an inch in 2 years..

Doesn't look like anything on that page under turf algae.. Turf grows on algae scrubbers and doesn't get this hard..

they r so tough i use a pair of pliers to pluck it out.
