On the right is a candycane with a brown outside and teal inside. On the left is what? It was sold as a candycane and the heads look similar but they have almost no branches. They are just slightly raised from the base. I have not seen them open yet at night. It looks like it is brown with a hazy blue covering the brown. The centers are blue.

I doubt it.

Here is another one I have, baby blue. And a couple in the background. All the candy canes have branches.

"Candy Canes" are not a family, genus or species of coral. It is a hobbyist name given to corals which "looked" like the striped candy canes of days past; similar to the one in your first photo on the right. The genus of that coral is Caulastrea. The coral you are trying to ID appears to also be in the Caulastrea genus, probably Caulastrea tumida. It would take skeletal examination to give an accurate answer.

I buy that. The picture in the center on that page really matches well in structure. Although they also mention Favia Vietnamsis which also has one picture similar. So as you said you would have to examine it. Thanks
So calling it a candy cane I guess is ok since it is a caulastrea.
