Hello All,
Recently I have noticed very strange algae right next to my left overflow, and in surroundings of circulation pump in the same area.
From the entire tank, I fond this algae only here.
I cut down on feeding, all water parameters are fine


Any ideas?

Never seen anything like that kind of looks like a sponge what color is it and is it hairy like hair algae

Out of the water it is light brown in color and feels like a slimy wet cotton ball. I was able to remove a lot of it off my overflow. Thanks for your reply.

That's what I was thinking too cause of the bubbles in it but color and thickness looks off

The bubbles and the mucus like film is a indicator

After doing some research I learned that treatment should be:

high ph (8.6)
total darkness for 72 hours
Food Grade 3% Hydrogen Peroxide treatment, 1 mL per 10 gallons of water

My question is how many days do I treat with Hydrogen Peroxide?
