And I paid $365 for 1 polyp of CB krakatoa god...

We are crazy by default.
Look around and try to figure out how much money you have spent on this fish thing...
Lol

JK
It's a hobby like anything else and it costs money like any other hobby.

This hobby is insanely crazy and that's why I love it. They need to stop coming out with things already at least for a monh I 2 like holy crapolaaaaaaaa :.

So far krak god is the highest polyp paid It would have been the krak it self but I was out at 800$ haven't seen one up for sale again cause duke or tuna lost a colony. The. Started over . Waiting for a master krak to drop down jabot seen one yet

I have been looking for those too...
I can't find them.. Everyone I could find that had them lost them... It kinda scares me a bit...

+1 on the stopping coming out with nice stuff for a little while.

My wallet is pretty thin compared to what it was a year ago...

How is yours doing rob?

Has it put out any babies?

Mine has 4 now. Don't remember when I got mine, but it was the first one CB posted

Got a babie and 2numbs forming . Lacks a little color right now we got them high up and a cherry spot it's growing pretty quick for the spot it's in but the flip side not to great color I will lower place it after I'm satisfied wit the polyp count then drop it down to gain the color back in it . Best of both worlds lol.

It sure did come across as criticism... I'm not pissing away money.

What do art collectors do? Coin collectors???

The rareness of a piece drives them.

I would like to have a vacation as well but it's been 7 years without one...

Pissing away money was not the right choice of words.

But lets be very clear, art and coin collectors buy things that they believe will increase in value over the long term. Coral can not increase in value over the long term because of the fact that there will be more of it (much more) in the future, which brings prices down. Look at rasta zoas, were $20+ per polyp and now they sell for a few $ per polyp. Look at bubble gum monster chalice, was $25 per eye and now I cant sell 3 eye frags for $15. Coral always goes down i. Price drastically.

Art and coins are not like that because they are truly rare and will maintain their value since there aren't more of them being made and populations numbers are known.

True. Utter chaos were $100 and more and now are fairly cheap.
However, unless it dies on you, you can get your money back plus some because there are always people willing to pay that amount of money when they know you have it...

You can charge $350 for this guys, but you can't give lightning krypnite away...

That's why people don't flood the market with the high end polyps to keep them at there peek thy will drop down to about 200 but no time soon yet.

Strays are going up in value . I lost my 20p colony well most of it cause I never chopped it up . Sold my last few. And called it a day don't even have any moor my self now...

Only took 5mkths to grow that many but it was a hard hit to lose that many . Starts were 200$ pp now there going up to 250$ cause of the demand and the shortage of the darn polyp and them melting left and right.

Art you kinda can't compare yes.

But you can have a 20k painting and the value you think it is is realy not cause there is a smudge or there is a pin size hol in the painting or it's yellowing deeps if on if it's age or not .

And then your painting that was 20k when you bought it and now it's 12k cause of the hard time this world is in as well as painting is no hot right now , as well as your mistakes on the painting from holding it over time . But this was just an example.

This hobby will always have a high demand . Once a price tag is put down and a few buyers but it and the collectors come out and see there gonna jump on it witch raising the bar for that polyp then the shortstops come in and want to buy some polyps so the collectors come out and make there investment back + more
