I would get him out....they are fairly easy to get out when lights are off. I caught 2 this way....with thick gloves and plastic tongs- grabbed the beasts.

Ive only seen it out of the rocks twice in the last 3.5 years.

I tried catching it last night but it got away.

I think I have something like this in my aquarium right now. I want it out. Should I just remove the piece of live rock I think it lives in if I can't get mine out with tongs?

Oro50: yours looks like a bristle worm. Very different and beneficial (although some think they are not).

I had one of those before... It was in a hole it created in a maze brain coral. Definitely a hitchiker you would not want in the tank.

+1 on bristle worm. IME sometimes they will bother clams and scallops but otherwise great CUC.
