So I went to a beach and as always I go and explore/lift rocks and search in litle puddles left by the low tides
I find a bunch of crabs, fish and shrimps but this time I found something that seems to be a eel?

Which kind is that
I want info about it since I didn't even know there were eels around these beaches in NYC

Sorry for the bad pic but I had to put it in a bottle to take a better pic since it was kind of hard trying to catch it

Is your fuge covered? Id think it could get out easily, how'd you catch it in water. I have hard enough time catching stuff in a tank

Not its not covered
The eel is about 5 inches long very thin. I was looking around in those puddles that the low tide leave behind
Lifting rocks etc.. It was very shallow so It was kind of easy

Doubt that is a conger eel... as it says in the description... the American Eel has a protruding jaw.. which is shown in the picture, as opposed to a longer upper snout.

Also be that as it may... the American Eel is found in both FW and Brackish/SW which would be considered in the LI Sound.
