Is anyone currently using pickling lime? How do you use them and for long do they last? I have no clue, except they are use to replenish your ca and alk for top off water..

Jose, thanks! I owe you some back.

Tom, most people add 1-2 TEAspoons of lime per gallon of fresh water. After the settling of precipitates, the clear limewater is usually dripped into a sump. The link in my first post of this thread has more info.

I'm with Jose on this one. I add a bunch of it, let it sit in a bottle for a day or two with a airbubble thing mixing it up about 4-6inchs off the bottom of the bottle, so the excess can settle. I never wash the bottle out just keep adding more mix and more water. :D Then I add it to my ghetto dripper and its a wrap. 1 gallon gets me through 2 days. Hope this helps.

Sorry about not being able to bring the lime to the BBQ, but I had an emergency out of town. In any case, I've received the lime and can bring some into Manhattan for pick-up any day. Also, I may be able to deliver Wed. 6/8/05 afternoon; just PM me your address so I can best arrange a deliver route. Each bottle is $4.50 for those who haven't paid.
