WTB/WTS Black Eggcrate - Styrene Lighting Panel

Since all fish I keep coming across are escape artists, I'm now looking into eggcrate.

Modern Plastics has 3/8" x 23.75" x 47.750" Black Eggcrate Styrene Lighting Panel $20ea. but with a minimum order of $100. They have silver, gold, white, black, etc..

Anyone else need some eggcrate want to split an order with me?

To cover my 55gal, I would need about two 11 1/2"x 23" pieces. So I would order two of their regular size pieces and cut it to fit.

What about metal mesh that is available from hardware stores? Apply some anti-rust coating and nail onto a wooden frame, viola.

This may or may not help.I've bought black eggcrate from LI paneling for $13 ea.
Maybe there is a similar store near woodbridge.

Possible option if the egg crate doesn't work out. May be a bit harder to clean though.

Mantis & I have been 'talking' on PM's about this and I believe he is going with the mesh top now
..but for anyone else who wants black eggcrate - you can buy the white stuff and paint it with the Krylon black Fusion paint.
It looks works/great and is non toxic once it dries.
