What you need to do us find out what your demand is. Like if you want to keep your cal at 500 & the coral absorb 20 everyday then you need to have your effluent coming into the tank at the minimum 520. As per the drip rate into the tank I always set it to be like a slow breaking steam. Not individual drops but not solid.you know what I mean? Lol. Co2 I always did about 1 bubble a second but that's always been my experience... Please don't hold me responsible if you get different results. These are just my own over the years.

Depends on your demand on what to set ph on also like me I dont have much demand so my ph in reactor is low-6.8 high-7.10 and Iam using fine ARM If you sent ph at 6.2 for ARM media it will mush from my understanding you have to find out at what ph your media dissolves at

I have mostly sps been going through sm bottle of a/b 2 part every 2 weeks
When I put my ph probe in the reactor b4 it was running I was getting a 8.1 reading on my ph controller does that sound right ? I'm gonna recalibrate the probe tonight it's only 2 months old !

Thanks Ming the probe is re calibrated I had the cal reactor running but I was still getting reading of 8.1 in the reactor should I let it run with one bubble per second and not let the 2 returnds drip for a while? I'll start at 6.7 is that when the solenoid will be shut down by controller ? At what point does it come back on ?
This thing is a hassle I'd proably go with dossiers if I had to do it again lol

Hi Matt

I use the same reactor . Start with 10 bubbles of co2 a minute and a drip rate of 60 drops per minute from the main outlet and about 2-5 drops a minute from the secondary outlet . Set the pressure gauge on the regulator to at least 20 psi Anything under 20 and you will have a problem controlling the bubble counter. My ph coming out of the reactor is 6.8. and my KH coming out of the reactor is over 25 ( I use the kit where you count drops and your KH is when the color turns from blue to yellow.
The KH in your tank water s/b between 8-13 drops and your cal between 7.8-8.4. You will need a good cal test also.

I have also included the instructions from the manufacturer and a tip sheet that I used setting mine up

Have fun

Had it running at 60 drops per min 10 bubbles after s day my levels where low so I upped it too 15 bubbles per min and about 100 drops per min
Should I dose to bring levels up to see if my current bubble / drip rate is keeping levels steady ????

I just set the same one up and followed the directions of 10 drops per min to start and it did nothing.. i since bumped it up to 30 drops per min and starting to see some stability in my cal. i aslo have the outlets set at almost a steady flow out of main and a fast drip threw the secound outlet.

What I usually do is keep a spare set of B-ionics to raise your parameters if necessary. Once your parameters are good, then wait a few days, if they're low, then adjust it back to normal levels with the b-ionics, and then increase the bubbles/effluent of the calcium reactor. wait a few days and repeat as necessary until when you test it and its stable without needing to dose.

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for overdosing the calcium reactor, so try not to adjust it higher too much at each adjustment. If its slightly higher, you could either turn off the co2 or just lower it. If its a lot higher, a water change may be necessary.

The reactor doses in equal parts of alk and ca, so if one is off, adjust it with b-ionics

If you try to use the reactor to increase your ca/alk, then once it reaches the proper levels, it will keep going up because you've been overdosing to try get it higher, so until you lower the dosage, it will keep going up.
