anyone buy fish from the fish store in brooklyn located on 64st and 11 or 12 AVE??? I saw lots of fish in there in really bad shape. but i did see a copperband butterfly i might get.

any input??

Even if I bought from them and it lived and someone else bought from them and they died that doesn't help you with the copperband.

You should always take fish on a case by case basis at EVERY LFS.

1. Is the fish in a stand alone tank or is the tank on a system?
A. If the tank is on a system, is their ick in the system?
B. If on a system are there inverts in the system? )Maybe they treat with cooper)
2. How does the fish look? Will he survive acclimation, further stress, a freshwater dip etc.
3. Is the fish eating?
4. Is it displaying the traits normal to this fish if healthy?

ALWAYS Quarantine new fish for a few weeks in a separate tank. In addition to protecting your tank it gives you a chance to get them back up to 100% health.

I know that shop has some fish warranty(at least one of my friend did get exhange when his expensive emperor died) but you should ask first just in case.
That store is one of the type that will put not so healthy ones in the tank and hope that they will revive. But the sad thing is that they did not quarantine them.

However, forget about his FW stuff.

The store is located in Brooklyn on 11th Ave between 64th and 65th Streets. It is fairly new to the area.
