so now that i have to stick my foot in my mouth bc in a post i said i almost never have to clean out my filter socks, i came home yesterday to an overflowing sock, thank god it all stayed in the sump.

i usually just rinse them out and reuse them..but ive never had them clogge up this bad, how do you clean your filter sock? ive heard of some people using the washing machine with hot water and bleach, ive heard the dishwasher.. and so on..

what do you do and is using bleach really a good idea?

washing machine with hot water and bleach with an extra rinse works for me.
If you have the time to let them soak a while in the hot water with bleach before washing them do it and they will come out very clean.
