My son poured 3oz of bubbles liquid (non toxic and environmentally safe) into a bin with live rocks last night. Can I save rocks or is too late? Maybe if I wash and/or boil and cure them again?

Hey Krzysiek:

Boiling will make the rock no longer live rock. You can still used the rock after you boil it but then you will need to bring it back to life. Gotta love the kids. Mine daughter is knocking down my sea shell collection and has already broke some nice shells.

Dzieki Marek. I know that boiling will make the rock no longer live rock. I just do now want to add all that rock to my existing tank and have another tank crush. Maybe just washing rocks will be enough. I do not want any bubbles (soap) on my rocks.

BTW how was Poland?

From a chemistry perspective, boiling the rock will do very little to remove the soap and will kill anything living on them. Best bet is to just wash them well. Soap is typically basic so I would make sure the pH doesn't get too high. Testing with a few inverts might not be a bad idea.

I would do a few 100% water changes, and filter with a Polyfilter.

And add a Polyfilter to your main tank as well, if you decide to use these rocks.

Do you see life in that container? Pods?

I wonder what "environmentally safe" means. I wouldn't assume anything about that claim.
