Help: How much will it cost me to replace my stock lights on my 34 gal RedSeaMax?

Hello everyone. I need some help because I know I'm going to have to replace my stock lights on my 34 gal RedSeaMax very soon. The lights I have are: 2x 55w 50/50 10,000k & Actinic T5 Power compact lamps. Anyone know how much I would have to pay to replace these lights? Anyone know a good place or website to get these lights that are on the cheap side? Anyone recommend any other kind of lights to use that are Cheap, but good lights? BTW: I plan on having LPS and soft coral in my tank. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

T he lights u have are fine for Lps and softies
If u wanna retrofit better lights into your hood it's gonna be big bucks
If you are willing to scrap the hood then u could just buy a fixture on here for cheap but it kinda ruins the whole look of the tank

Many members have had success keeping LPS with the stock lighting on the RSM. How old are the bulbs? If anything I would just add fresh bulbs if your current ones need replacing.

Red Sea advertises them as T5's but I doubt they really are.No one makes those but Red Sea.I replaced them with 14k PC lighting,Not as bright but will bring out the colors better plus using a LED bar to supplement the actinics.

Thanks for the reply. Could I get those lights at Petco or Petsmart? How much are each bulb? Do you use 2 of them? I think I've read that you have the RedSeaMax, what should I replace them with? I appreciate the help.

You need the 21".I got the marine white and Marine Blue but you can do 2 of the white if you want.

Hey. Thanks a lot. What does the blue light do? Is it just for color?

I also have a moonlight in the tank. Does the moonlight do the same thing as the marine blue light? I think the moonlight is only for color. I leave it on at night, when the other lights are on.
