I mounted my 150 watt metal halide hanging from two screws drilled into a thin sheet of plywood. The fixture hangs on the screws about 2" below the plywood attached to the canopy but the screws generate so much heat the plywood makes my office smell like a ski shop or sauna. What can I do to cure the situation? Thanks.

metal halide bulbs reach around 400 degrees so make sure you have fans removing that heat from your canopy, also make sure you have adequate spacing from whatever reflector you are using and the wood it is mounted to.

Larger pics are in my gallery I couldn't figure out how to make them larger.

Fixture is hanging about 2 inches from the canopy by screws mounted to a 1/4" piece of wood.
