Check that TIMER was on Light switch off- I am now interrogating a 10 yr old a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old

Having interrogates a 4 and 7 year old you are just going to get more frustrated in the process. My advice to anyone is to get a good controller. I have the reefkeeper lite and the reefkeeper 2 and I love them. They never fail me. I know this doesn't help now but it will in the future. Well worth the investment.

Not if it's hooked up to that same outlet with the light switch it won't help.

Sorry the part where I relocated the pulg to another outlet was omitted. I had a similar situation with my 24g aquapod when it crashed I actually took out the switch and capped it because no lights were actually hooked into the circuit. then I plugged everything back into that unswitched outlet.

Sorry to hear the news OneTimer, Look on the brighter side, the reason I went in to reefing was because Last Christmas went away for 3 days and the breaker to my back then F1, 7 Line Frontosa tank crahed (the breaker tripped) had over $3000 in fish that died. Best of luck, keep us posted. Need anything?

Sorry to hear that about your tank :(. Don't feel too bad though, there's an epidemic of crashes right now. I went to Long Island for 3 days to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday with her, and the person who was keeping an eye on my tank managed to let the temp drop to 72, and then knocked almost a whole jar of pellets into my tank causing the NO3 to shoot above 100ppm, killing all the fish, coral and clams (save for a few rics and zoas.)

Not to detract from your loss, but you're not alone (unfortunately :()

Thank you all for you suggestions and wishes

Brando - I will take you up on the sitter duty next time -

A few LPS look like they are coming back - fresh water changes seemed to help and I will have plenty of room to get corals at the swap (if I can wait that long)!

+1 i would get a profilux or a neptune system where you can constantly monitor your tank from a phone or a computer anywhere
