So anyway

"Your photogrphic evidence mean nothing to people how keep these trouble some Tangs without UV's for many years."
What exactly was well said about this again?

I wonder why it is you "reefers" look to pick arguments over small things only to agree with my point - that UV's work. Not only do you agree with me but you use them yourself. Apparently there is some confusion around here. So, if you have a change of heart - why not say that instead? What was well said however, is that UV's work and every tank is different. PSM.

I never said it couldn't be done without one. The ocean doesn't have one. But if one is added to a home aquarium I have seen nothing but positive results time and time again. I offer evidence, not opinion, to back it up.

The proof is in the pudding. :)

UV is worthless in my opinion. All so called evidence of it doing anything to ich is anecdotal.

My fish never get ich and I never use UV. However every morning I get naked and do the "No Ich Dance" in front of the tank. It works like a charm. The proof is in the pudding.

We all don't agree with you, and in fact a lot of people will disagree with you.
After a while you may notice what works for you, works for you, and only works for you.
Someone else might do the exact same thing and kill everything in their tank.
We all spend a lot of time and personal sacrifice to get our tanks looking good. So there will be that much more emphasis with some of these posts.
I compare this to being a boat captain. There are many ways to get to port. Your way is always the best. You have to believe that. If you don't think so, you will be second guessing everything and that is when crap happens.
To say your way is the best just because you are standing on the dock doesn't mean anything to me.

But really, does it matter to you if I don't believe in UV? I have a very healthy tank with no UV and no ick. Want a pudding picture?

Your photogrphic evidence mean nothing to people how keep these trouble some Tangs without UV's for many years.Besides 3 years isn't even a long time to keep a Hippo Tang alive.Nice job though, i hope you can keep the Powder Blue for much longer.Regaurding the use of a UV.Yes they work for me.Over the years of observations i came up with my own method and specifications i use 30 watt UV's on my fish only tanks.Reef Tanks i may add, the corals didn't do so well. Every tank is different, even if you use an over size UV it doesn't necessarily mean it will do wonders. There is much more to it but as i said they work for me.
Well said Dre.
Barry,

I was referring to Dre's post. Dre agrees UV works. You then agreed with his post. Since he agrees with me and you agree with him, you agree with me. Get it?

Now, I agree with you now on all that boating stuff. haha I also agree with myself and that is why I maintain that it works. Seriously, I do not disagree with you that other things are or can be effective measures in preventing ICH. I said and maintain that in my exp. with UV which is real, unlike someone who say; never uses UV and never gets ich is a non exp. with UV. Under your own logic of self confidence I'm still correct. If you guys want to disagree with me that is fine but don't agree with a post that agrees with me and then say you don't agree with me. Because you just did.

I don't care if you believe in UV. I care that you are so quick to dismiss UV when I have had actual exp. compared to others non existent exp. and opinions.

But there is nothing conclusive that UV works. I think that's what Wess is pointing out. You have UV and no ick but it may have more to do with something else entirely.
