Tom, how do you like the ECOSMART controllers? You're going to like that skimmer.

i really like them. when they first came out i was a little skeptical....thinking oh they only add just 2 useless programs to sell the newer model.

i first bought 2x es's and kept the old gen 2's. then the features that sold me to get another 2 es's were the syncing of the three planes (left, right and back) where each slave's speed can be control individually....compare to the gen 2 where all slaves' speed were dependent on the master.

me likey.....lol

haven't hook up the external skimmer yet.....need to do more research on how to optimize the level.....never had an external one before.
do you have experience with an external skimmer?

I was thinking about upgrading my 2 gen 2 MP40w's to the ecosmart driver. No I don't but I do own the SRO XP-2000 In sump cone and love it, I've heard really good things about yours.

i'll have to find the link someone posted about upgrading the driver....there were some fitting issues....like the wire, rubber grommet, or something like that being too big...had to be trim to fit inside the new controller body and the space is very tight inside. but besides the finagling, the software and the upgrade was perfect.

i have to move things around to get a stand for the skimmer in position....well first have to move things around and measure then build the stand.
