Hey all

I am about to purchase an aqaurium from another member. He has told me that it does not leak but there are 3 chips on the tank. 2 I am not so worried about. But one of them is chipped at the seam about 3/4 of the way up. Do you guys think this will be an issue? How can I repair it? I was thinking of applying some extra silicone. I was also told I may be able to use epoxy. Any advice is much appreciated.

:thanks:
Larry

I did see it in person and it doesnt seem to be an issue. I just want to know how to best secure it so to be safe. Anyone have any experience with that? again it is a chip not a fracture or crack. its costing me 275 with delivery so its not a bad deal.

Just keep in mind you can not just add more silicone- new silicone WILL NOT stick to old silicone. So, the old Ill just gob more than itll take in there will do nothing except give you a false sense of security. If you really want the tank- have the member fill it all the way up and leak test it for a prolonged period of time. If it doesnt leak and you feel comfy with it then go for it. Best wishes
