I usually change from bag o bag. IO, Reef Crystals, Red Pro, Seachem, Kent, etc.
I havent really seen much change with growth but I do notice differences in buffer and dissolvability.

ESV look to be a popular choice, might try that one next.

Tropic Marin. Always used it never had problems, although in my most recent tank im noticing its mixing up to a low ph 7.9-8.0, and the magnesium is lower than i would like. A buddy of mine uses Oceanic and he swears by it. ill give him this: it mixes to an 8.2 and dissolves quickly and his corals do really well, and its cheap.

Anyone ever use Marine Environment from aqua craft? Its the only salt ive ever used(2 yrs in the hobby) and the only problem ive ever had is the past couple 50 gal batches ive mixed up...there is a white film that forms along the sides/pump/heater...i just run it through a filter sock and all is fine..maybe i need a new membrane on my ro/di?? other than that it mixes to 8.2 ph and 9-10 dkh every time and i can honestly say i havent done any test on my tank in over a year b/c i would get the same readings every time..reason im asking is that their prices went up a good amount from last time i ordered(about a year ago)...ive been hearing good things about ESV so ive been pondering..
any experiences/comments?

I started with RC for initial start-up, have been using IO after that...everytime when the IO is almost used up and I plan on trying a new brand, IO is on sale.

I'm actually kind of surprised that no one is using Tunze salt... I just ordered another box of Reef Crystals, but that was mostly b/c I didn't want to risk shocking the SPS in my system. ..if I switch, I'm going to do it slowly.

Don't be surprised. Most people buy what's available and/or cheapest. I used to use HW marinemix and when I couldn't find it for a while switched to the Tropic Marin. If you have the room and spare cash but it in the bulk bag or barrel and its actually pretty cheap and always been good for me. Don't have any experience w the esv product. Red sea is the byproduct of desalinization in the Middle East. Salt is definitely not just salt with a few add-ons. Look at the disolve rate from Io to tropic for example
