I don't know too much about RO/DI unit... I just have one to keep my fish tank. All I know is I need to change the filter every 6 months and change the membrane or get a new unit in 3 years. I'm sure there is a lot I must know, anybody willing to explain it to me? Or a site link where I can read on it? Thanks.

Buy a really inexpensive one off ebay. Buy it NEW, never trust a seller telling you his membrane is only 2 month old. For about $120 you can get a whole set brand new, shipped to your house. I have a one called "water general".

Brand name really does not matter here as the work horse of the RO unit is the membrane filter. All the major brand use the same membrane made by Dow Chemical.

check out bulk reef supply or Air water and ice....both make good Ro/Di's and both companies use the FilmTec membranes made by Dow.....BulkReefSupply has a nice basic 5 stage for 143$....cant beat that price brand new....
Mods should consider creating a sticky that covers Ro/Di...it seems to be one of the most popular (and important) questions asked by newcomers....I should know...i was one of them...lol....
at least let them know that when considering rodi they should also consider quantity and frequency of WCs....size of tank.....if they are planning non-aquarium uses....etc, etc.....
