Upgrading to LED's today.

I have 96 watts of PC but Wingo is upgrading me to 72 watts of LED's (actinic and regular with a couple watts of red). It is going to rule. This is what I feel like inside right now.

Nice James.
Just remember not to run it at full intensity in the beginning. PAR is different from visual intensity appearance. You can still bleach out your corals even though the LEDs might not seem as bright as your PC fixture.

I made that mistake in 2002 when I went from PCs to MH. Killed pretty much everything. I am a lot more mature now (like the kid in the video); plus, the LED's have a dimmer so I should be able to adjust very gradually.

As I am typing this I am seeing sunspots because I took that picture and couldn't help looking at the light, this pic is actually after I got out of the way because the front shot couldnt come out as I wanted because I was blinded. Awesome custom job Wingo! Thank you very much, it looks great. The blue only is so stunning, now all the corals look like they did when I bought them under actinics only!

1:1 3w leds. with 2 reds (I think 1 watt each)

I need to upgrade my sunglasses at night now.

the shimmer is awesome, as someone who is coming from PCs it is really such a huge difference. The red really brings out the colors in my tank. I am very happy. The actinics with red and no mains is so sweet looking, my clownfish is glowing.

I really can't get a good FTS because I don't know how to properly use my camera but I am going to try. Let me let my corals wake up, I had them just on actinic and red today

Ok, people are asking for pics but you need to understand that the camera is not catching the shimmer nor the colors well at all. Things look so much better in person (as everyone except those who take really nice pics knows). This aquascape and rock is temporary. I will be changing it around before the 12th of this month when I go on vacation. I have 2 tanks I am going to consolidate. So, just to hold you wolves over

If your camera can adjust white balance, set it to the highest K possible, then the color of the pic look much closer to what you see in person.

Looks good! But how deep is that tank? and can you get a hold of a PAR tester? I would be very interested in the PAR readings
