no, actualy there are some reef safe triggers. the ones with the up-pitched mouthes are reef safe like the niger, bluethroat, and crosshatch etc... Others like the huma huma and the undulated that have straight mouthes straight in front of them are not reef safe.

Niger Trigger is a really great beautiful fish that some people have had success keeping in a reef, always expect to lose something when you gamble with stuff like this.

I have seen people keep triggers in reefs but i never noticed any crustaceans in there with them.My experience with Triggers is that i kept the nasty ones, the Undulated ,Clown triggers to name a few.Sea urcin, seastars ,snails, shrimp they didn't stand a chance.

I've kept Crosshatch and Sargassum triggers in my reef and they were both very well behaved with snails, hermits and shrimp. The only casualties were an occasional snail that got knocked off the glass and i couldnt get to in time to flip back over. They get a little aggressive during feeding time but nothing to crazy.
