external return pump

hey guys and gals

i've never used an external return pump. i was wondering, considering i live in puerto rico(heat), hence the reason for an external pump. what's a good pump(not too pricey) i can get for a 65g??

That will depend almost completly on the flow rate that you need. I use a dart on my closed loop but that may be too much for your system. I think that company makes one unit smaller yet than the dart and a couple models larger. I have to admit that I have never paid much attention to heat. Being from Ohio we only need the a/c about three or four months out of the year so I can not comment on how much heat this company's pumps put out. But otherwise its been years of quiet flaw free service for my dart and baracuda return pumps

Jon, I am quite partial to the Iwaki. Always had this brand of pump since I began sw. Now I run both the iwaki & eheim. My first iwaki I bought used, and it lasted me approximately 6 years. The one I have now has been running 3 years, and I believe it was new. I purchased it from Ro! The eheims I run in sumps.
