wow bumping within reason i agree with that and as for other people bumping it the person that started the thread has no control over that.Admins and mods have enough to do than to sit and watch who bumped or how many times it was bumped, heck they arent getting paid to baby sit.People just need to be curtious and reasonable.

That's what I thought as well ... but clearly someone was watching.

The reason why I don't mind some bumps, but limited is just in case I missed it the first time around. After a few bumps, you reached majority of users and you're just crowding up the main page and bumping down the new threads which people may be interested in seeing.

I agree completely.

Or if the entire F/S forum was achieved with no bumping, and no cover threads, and no ability to post, we would search F/S threads looking for deals instead of just at the lastest threads and bumped threads. Not to mention all interests would be kept solely to PM's so that would give the mods a lot less to babysit. Kind of like craigslist postings.

the problem with them stopping the bumping is that people after so long will just start another post selling the same item which again makes more work for the mods, then all you will have is another post like this one that will be about people consatantly posting an item over and over again if it dont sell.lets just leave it the way it is thats how i feel

What is really annoying is to travel miles to buy fish from members and you have to help the guy catch the damn things in a crowded reef tank and you just have to give up the catch now that's unconscionable... i just had to get that out.

Perhaps you should have given me your phone number so I could call you, and tell you not to come(I mentioned several times that the morning would be difficult time to catch them).
Also, showing up with Two other people is consider very rude when you don't ask first.
When you point a finger, three are pointing back at you!

Would noy have known Dre was pointing a finger at you Rookie07, as I have had this same situation happen to me. And not just once either.

I agree with Dre, it is very annoying to go to pick up a fish that has yet to be caught.

As to bumping threads I don't see a problem with it. I think the majority of us would much rather start a new thread then show what little interest there was in the first place.lol
And then you have the threads where people contact you through PMs that they are buying the item, and ask for the item to be held only for months to go by with not another word.

bumping is ok. as long as its not done often.
I have sold EVERYTHING i ever put up for sale.
SOME take 10 minutes some took 2 months but i always sold it because i bumped the thread every 2 or three days.
i don't think A Rule should be made that would just be over doing it. i usually ignore the post which i already read

I was not talking about you and the two other people you are talking about is my 7,10 year old children that accompany me to buy fish. And by the way did you catch them yet? You never called me back now that's rude and that's why the first member didn't buy them either because you couldn't catch them.

What if your friends bump the thread? Whether you ask or not ... It happened with my F/S threads and someone seemed to have an issue with it and deleted all of my friend's posts ... the community was just trying to help ... I didn't ask for them to bump it.

Well in this case I don't find it annoying if there is a conversation but a friend every 24 seconds putting in :bump: or ttt or whatever is mega freakin annoying because everyone knows its a setup most of the time.

i have seen sale threads on forums and some people carry on full conversations in them.
how do you propose to stop the bumping? limit the number of replies in f/s threads?
i don't think there is a fair way to do this.
i'm in agreement with "ignore it if you don't like it".
is it that big of a deal really?

When YOU have to read EVERY post on the forum it gets annoying.

Lets put it this way, there is one member here of which I ignore entirely. They are set up on my ignore list. Every time they post something stupid I still have to read their dumb can't spell, uneducated, improper grammar, useless questions and posts. So going wasier on us might make us nicer given that we CAN'T ignore them LOL
