If you haven't seen this show you should definitely check it out. It is a real eye opener on what happens when non-native species are introduced to habitats by accident or irresponsibly.

The "Killer Algae" is Caulerpa taxifolia. The show even discusses its introduction into the aquarium trade and how that introduction altered the genetics of the algae. When reintroduced to the wild, the genetically altered algae had become even more formidable than the original form.

The show is on again tonight at 11PM on the Science Channel. Here is a link to other showings: http://science.discovery.com/tv-schedules/special.html?paid=48.15727.126178.36723.0
