reefermadness99 was going to buy them, but ended up going to Wingo...but I believe that he did alot of research and spoke to the company...he did have a thread about in mid May... I think that he was told the unit will continue to work, even if some leds burn out.

No worry, even if they take the same path as Solaris :tongue1:-I can order those bulbs but you will have to wait a bit tagging along my other shipment from ASIA. I don't think I will stock them unless they become the mainstay. Oh, of course, the brand will be different.

You can retrofit it to many exsisting setups or use it in there fixture.

I should have been more specific. Is there anyone actually using these fixtures/lamps in our cummunity here ? If so please comment.

I had planned on buying them a few months ago after seeing them in action, talking to them over the phone (and they did a whole web cam demonstration for me as we spoke), and seeing that same table Chief put up. But alas, funds were reallocated to something else.

but will they be around in two years? I'm not familiar with sunbrite. is it an established, reputable company? For me that is one of the most important concerns when buying an unproven piece of equipment, especially one that costs big bucks.

I will be buying the fixture with my next tank. I spoke to the designer of the product. Its a very simple structure. You buy the Fixture that has 8 slots for Led strips, and you buy the LED strips seperate like a T5 light, they come in different colors, etc. There is a timer on the fixture and it will simulate sunrise and sunset. At 11cents a kilowat the electricity used by this fixture is a mere 8 dollars a month. Thats pretty ridiculous. Par meter wise it is brighter than MH. Prob doesnt have the same shimmer.
