Upgrade or Not to upgrade

Hey Guys,
Sat will be the day to see if i want to upgrade to a 65g from my 30g bow or not....Only problem (tank is in my room upstairs and wondering if the weight difference on the floor would be a problem? Have wood floors under a thick carpet....) Right now my tank is sitting atop my dresser but new tank would be on a stand....

Side note i helped Kuya yesterday set up his 92 bow (what a nice tank) so today it should be crystal clear.....what a job though......=0

You know you have to have the 65! Think about all the addition room for corals and fish. Great meeting up you guys yesterday. Yeah, I'm a bad influence, but this is what you get from a reef junkie.

I wouldn't worry unless the tank is reaching the 180g mark. I think 150 lbs per square foot is pretty standard.

65gal @ 8 lbs per gallon = 520+lbs, that is some fat people.

Upgrade anyway, I am sure the floor will hold.

Given the choice? UPGRADE. If you are worried about the floor you can always place a wood plank accross more of the beams in the floor to diatribute the weight more accross the floor. But that kind of weight class should be insignificant. If your floor can not hold that tank then you have bigger problems than to upgrade or not to upgrade.

May be you should consider the 75 gal, I have a 65 gal and all I can think about is the 12" of extra swimming room I am missing =)

or if you like the height and width of the 65gal but want that extra 12" of length like a 75gal, go with a 90 gal

But i can just go see kuyas tank and feel even more worse =P .....
