wow i'v been planning on going to the swap ! but its getting insane ,why dont you guys just sell the frags online ? i must admit that i was excited when this was new news but im sorry now it sounds like everything is preordered and sold before the doors open ! i have to travel 5-6hrs for this and i dont think i will because it sounds as if everything is presold . i enjoy looking at 15 to 20 corals then picking out a few , dosent sound like that is possiable so i probably will take a trip to buffalo or stay home and look online . sounds like you all will have a great time "picking up" your corals , i really hope to meet some of you someday but this year will probably be postponed due to the preselling of the stuff that i am seeking . have a great time dudes ,we will meet some day !

There will be alot more items present then what you are thinking...

Some items in threads that you see "pre-sold" are web site related & some are member sales, but there will be WAYYYYYY more stuff at the swap.

This particular thread includes items / corals that are being donated by members / vendors, which will be up for auction at our swap.
You can possibly win one of these nice looking corals;)

Hope you can make it out, you won't be disappointed.

I have to echo what Randy (Prattreef) said Wrasseman...what you are seeing here on the threads is ONLY the stuff that the members are selling between themselves.

As far as the merchandise, frags, and colonies being sold by the vendors - none of that is what you are seeing here...what will be offered at the swap will make your head spin.

Not to mention the FUN, the people, the free lunch , the speakers, our auction, the RAFFLE (ok, I am mildly biased about that..lol)...you will not believe the energy at a Manhattan Reefs Swap until you come to one yourself.

Come on down, I promise you, you won't regret it!! :)

We haven't pre-sold (nor will we) one single frag. We'll have hundreds of frags there too. Randy very eloquently (as usual) divulged the pre-swap trading that is going on. It is certainly between members, not vendors.

We know it's a long trip, but it will be well worth your time.

Hope to see you Sunday,
Russ

Hi Everyone ;-)
Although living some 3300 miles away in the land whose people one day set sail and Gave New Worlds to the World, a land separated from the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave by the 200 million year old marine puddle called Atlantic Ocean I'm happy to announce my modest but willingly contribution to the Fall Frag Swap 2008 :)

1 ORA Hawkins Acropora Echinata

1 Tricolor Poccillipora

of which I do not have yet photographs but with the help of House of Laughter should get them soon enough.

I wish I could be present in these unique reef social festivities, but for this time I'll have to look on-line keeping in mind the day I will cross the "200 million year marine puddle called Atlantic Ocean" and land in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave right in the middle of a Big Apple ;)...after all its only some 3300 miles...and we the Portuguese are used to set sail and find new worlds ;-) ...like you also did with one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind...I was 5 years old then, and I saw it live on tv and I will never forget it.

I profit to thank KathyC, masterswimmer, prattreef and House of Laughter for their kind help that made this donation possible as I could not be present to do it.

As I said above, for now I will look on-line but one day I will go, until then and for now, enjoy :)

Cheers
Pedro Nuno;-)

Pedro, your kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity is only surpassed by your willingness to extend a hand of friendship across a 200 million year old marine puddle. You've gone over and above to genuinely foster an intercontinental gesture of good will that most certainly will be returned with dividends. Some day I too hope to cross the puddle and kick back and enjoy some great Port with a friend from afar.

It's been a pleasure dealing with you. Thank you from Saltwater Critters, but more importantly from Manhattan Reefs. Our community will certainly benefit from your heartfelt contribution.

I can guaranty that Jim will post the pictures of your donations, soon. The swap preparation has been overwhelming.

Best regards from your friends on the other side of the puddle, :grouphug:

As a newbie your support can come in another generous way. Bid on the items being auctioned off. Your contributions in that manner are just as important as the contributions of items from everyone else. :grouphug:
Donations are of no value without bidders ;)

I will have some stuff for the sale bin. depends on what my rotten urchins knock over tonight. So far a nicely shaped red monti cap, a small purple monti digi, some yumas, and a rock covered in blue mushrooms.
