Hi all,

My Rose bubble tip anenomes (it split two months ago) look more like long tip anenomes now then bubble tips (I've seen them before with the rounded head. I have HQI lighting, keep sps and clams, but I can't seem to get the anenomes to get nice and rounded. Suggestions please??

Thanks
Justin

I now have 5 LARGE rbta's (they keep splitting).....
I use MH lighting, have tons of flow, and they host a mated pair of clowns
that now lay eggs every three weeks or so - guess what....
They all have long stringy tentacles during the day, but late at night
(and I mean really late) they shrink up and the bubbles reappear on the tips?!?!
-Go figure:bablefish

yea its wierd, I have the lighting, I have awesome flow, I feed them silversides once every 1 and a 1/2 - (maybe Doing less would help) but when I FIRST got it.. it looked amazing! I have always had hosts... a clarki then a maroon (just got rid of of the maroon, clarki months ago) and the dame thing has not bubbled up since.. I dont understand.

Perhaps too much light? I had mine originally under PC's and it was all bubbles but when I upgraded to MH they have longer tentacles.

i think it was Jason at GA who told me they need a higher flow to keep the nice round tentacles. you'll have to experiment since everyones tank is different.

what do you have for flow now?

I read some where (will try to find the link) that it bubbls up when the light was low. Not sure how for it is true. Mine is under MH and it sits on the top of the tank. No bubbles. But under my T5 (before the MH comes up and after the MH goes off) i could see it bubbled up.

Before you start moving powerheads to correct something that isn't wrong, know that moving the powerheads may cause your anemone to start moving around your tank. If you have other corals in the tank, think about the consequences of the moving anemone before you change your flow pattern.

The anemone having long tentacles, doesn't mean anything is wrong. I have an RBTA that i've seen bubble maybe once, other than that its always had long tentacles.

Just my 2 cents
