no it won't hurt them and they are benificial

Technically they aren't harmful but they can irritate a zoa to the point of it not opening again.
You might want to relocate it

I have a bunch of them in my tank and they don't seem to bother anything, they sometimes touch the corals but i don't see the polyps retract. Kind of freaky looking when they fully emerge though :splitspin
