Blotchy (Borbonius) Anthias

I just came from Aquarium Design Networks on Jericho Tpke in Huntington and they have a Blotchy Anthias!!! It looks absolutely amazing!!! It's about 3 inches long. It is going for 249.00 retail and they are giving MR members 10% off. Anybody interested give them a call.

Other than them being "rare" i dont see the big deal with them. Certainly not for the 3 digit price tag or 4 for that matter LOL Notice all of the sudden there available in lots of places. They cant be all that rare but more a fad being fed by everyone paying big bucks for an anthias.......

They are without a doubt a very cool fish, one that's not been kept before, which makes it pretty exciting. They appear to be seasonal, the first batch coming up this time last year, so I'd guess they'll be nowhere to be found in the next couple of months. Regardless, one of the most interesting and exciting fish to enter the hobby since Banggai Cardinals, IMO.
However Reefermadness is obviously not "in the loop" about their availability, and just decided to price gouge.

Whoever pays that much for a fish is CRAZY!! Think of all the corals you can buy with that amount of money.
Ever since I got into reef I don't even look at my fish in the tank:lol2:. They swim buy and tap on the glass to try to get my attention.

Pretty cool if you ask me, and like Jason said even cooler in 2 months when they aren't available. Point of fact; they are quite the challenge to get them to settle in. So they require not only a willingness to spend on a unique fish but also a willingness to do it on something that might not make it. If you can get them to settle in you can get amazing results!
