I think I have seen this species before on another site. I can't remember which one it was but I think the diet consists of gorgonians. That is if this is indeed the same species.

The flamingo tongue snail is what I thought it could be, but now that I am looking at the pics again it is close but probably not.

Russ, it would need to be a really small tank to be the centerpiece!

I will be looking for the little guy all the time now.

If he eats algae he'll be happy in my tank, if he only eats one type of sea fan found in the pacific I'm afraid the little guy is out of luck

by the way, the shell is all white when the mantle is pulled in.
it's also not nocturnal, it was out during the day on the glass.

from the looks of it I doubt it eats algae. Probably carnivorous in one way or another since it has that sensory snorkel nassarius snails have. Might even be venomous.

My first impression is that it is some kind of small carnivorous snail. It resembles the Atlantic Flamingo Tongue snail which eats only gorgs but it is a very different type of snail.

Closest thing i could find is Cyphoma Macgintyi. If it is, it's an obligate gorgonian feeder and it's foot is also it's stomach.
