is it bad to buy fish and corals from there?
I don't buy from there, but it all depends, some are better then others. If there one particular store you will go to, i would go by from time to time and see how there tanks look. Checking to see how they maintain there tanks, check if you see dead fish and whether they leave them in there. and to check and see if you see fish sick there like with ick. And if you feel comfortable with what you see, then go for it.
As for corals..........................NO WAY

That is such a loaded question. I would say it depends on the individual fish when they came in etc etc. I've bought fish from them in the past and had no problems but I've bought fish that didn't last a day. I wouldn't buy corals from them but that's just my pref. If you buy any livestock from them I would make sure you do your research first.

I never seen any corals at Petco but the one they just opened in Staten Island has fish. Mostly clowns and tangs and there a little over priced if you ask me but the ones I did see seem pretty healthy. So I wouldnt say its bad to buy from them but I'd rather buy from NY Aquatic great service and great fish, cant go wrong with them.

Remember to set up a QT for any fish you add to your system. If you quarantine all incoming livestock you can't go wrong with some terrible disaster in your display tank.

NEVER BUY CORALS or FISH from petco, they are always the last ones to get the pick of the litter from local wholesalers, and most of the staff at PETCO stores are not educated enough to help you, if any problems occur.
