The calcium won't affect your zoos. If you can make it to Brooklyn I'll test your water. I thought you had a Pinpoint Ca monitor.:eek:rangehat

When I was using that Dr.s Foster & Smith Phosphate removal stuff, my zoas & xenias were melting away. Ever since I stopped using it, they have made a comeback.

Please clarify what you are adding to the tank as well as what products you are using.

zoa's

dude dont stress, i have periods about every 6 months that i have zoa's melting away, best bet is to pull the frags or colonies and save as much as you can and put them in the sump, do a bacterial dip as well as a ro\di water dip. if all's it took was a few zoa's melting away {$700 worth} id have quit the hobby 3 months after starting it, do you dip all new coras going into the tank ? or acclimate new stuff ? any new additions ?

I don't understand your first post. What are peladow pellets ? You are dosing what exactly ? Zoos also dissapear because of snails and crabs and fish. Check to see if you have eggs on the zoos or a hitchhiker crab.

If you can't test your alk and calcium levels you should stop dosing them NOW. Never dose something when you don't know how much you already have in your tank.

As Psuedo mentioned, melting zoas can be caused by many things. There are a few animals that eat zoanthids. There are small crabs, sundial snails and nudibranchs that all consume zoanthids in order to stay alive.

You could also have something going on chemically in the tank that is killing the zoanthids.
