Wondering if anyone has had any problems with this product? Its a 2 part Epoxy it was the only one in stock at my local aquarium shop and I have never used any of these type products before.

I used this product today following the instructions to the letter and within 4 hours all but one of my fish are dead. It has literally wiped out my entire tank even looks like SPS corals are dieing. Only survivor is a small damsel fish which is not looking like it will last much longer.

I was trying to fix two corals to my live rock.It was not fully set when I put it in the tank but the instructions say this is OK. I didnt want to leave the coral out of the water for the 3 hours it takes to fully set.

I had put a lot of time and effor into my tank and this product has destroyed it in a few hours.

I had coincidently checked the water only yesterday and there was no problems.

I used many different brands of 2 part epoxy's and never had a problem before.

I think you can use too much of the product at one time. That could irritate some corals.

How much epoxy did you use, in what volume of water?

It was a nano reef 38Gallons I used about 1/4 of it. It said on the instructions that it was not designed for use as a thin layer and that it was more of putty. Each stick is 56grams so about 30 grams I guess. Seemed like just enough to get it to stick to the rock. Havent found any reports of this happening to other people so maybe I did something wrong no idea what that could have been though. The name of the product was Aqua Medic Reef Construct.

8O wow, sorry to hear that! I've never used that product so I can't help you out but whenever I do use large amounts of 2 part epoxy I've always done it before I do a large water change.

I have used a putty type not designed for reefs but for under water, and have never had a problem. I would look at other causes, did you have anything on your hands or arms that could have contaminated the tank.

I use that "Aquastick" kind, and also cyanoacrylate superglue, and never have any trouble.
That situation sounds like a crying shame. I am very sorry for your loss. I am also on the
side of coincidence, but it could well have been the adhesive.

Aquamend works well and can be bought at Home Depot. I have also used Mighty Putty, as seen on TV.
