Lookin good Len. Where did ya pick those up? I saw clamsdirect just got some nice stock in, I need to get the funds together to get some new ones myself.
Yeah, got them from clams direct There were three aiptasias on mine, so qt them and inspect them before adding. As mentioned, I cleaned my as thoroughly as I could without killing them
I (or rather, NKT) wants me to get one more black "zebra" clam, and then I'm done with bivalves.
Here's my P.flavoguttatus shoal They actually shoal really tightly. I hope they keep doing this.
I received 2males, 3 females, and 2 juveniles. The juveniles tend to hide more for obvious reasons. One male (strangely enough, the smaller one) is dominating the other male and has already nipped off the top "streamer" caudal fin. The lesser male will probably revert to female in a few weeks. The dominant male usually swims in front and over the other anthias. It's fascinating watching their pecking order.
Good job, it might look slightly barren now, but if you can with hold the temptation to toss frags in all over the place to make it look full you'll be better off in the long run.
So other than the black tang and the pseudoanthias any other fish in there?
Oh and I still dig acans, just wish the LFS around here still wouldn't charge an arm and a leg on some of them, I want to say "Come on.. it's just red for crying out loud... $80 for 4 heads? really?"
Thanks. Yeah, my tank is pretty much nothing but little twiggy nubs, but I'm giving them at least 6" to grow into full colonies. Remember my bulwinkle diagram! 8) I can see good growth on most of them already.
I also have the two tiny Trimma gobies (they don't really count )
Oh yeah, one annoying thing about my Lumateks is the left one burns my bulbs more ice blue and the right one more violet (and a little darker). You can probably see it in the photos. I bought another dual-volt Lumatek, but it's not working properly with the Radiums.
