supplements/additives

What type of supplements/additives should i use with my soft corals to keep the calcium as well as other trace elements up and if i use these should i turn off protein skimmer, power filter and powerheads. According to GARF they said i should use Seachem products and turn off all filtration. Any suggestions would be helpful

I guess it would depend on what soft corals you have. I think, for the most part, water changes take care of the needs of many soft corals just fine. I don't think calcium is a huge concern either with anything that doesn't have a shell.

Upon the advice of my LFS, I started adding Iodine to my tank on occation. I do just 1 drop per week in my 75 gallon (far below the recommendation), and my mushrooms seem to grow larger, faster as a result.

I don't turn off filtration ever accept to cleen it, but I could just be lazy...
