You've given too little information. Have you gathered much information before you bought the shark? If it's not being housed on bare-bottom or sand, abrasions from substrate are a problem, as you seem to be experiencing.

You'll get more help if you give species, housing conditions, feeding schedule, behavior, etcetera.

It could be, it's not just the particle size but how rough it is. 7" is a newborn pretty much, isn't it? Do the abrasions match something like substrate abrasions to you?

You say you've tried to feed it, has it not fed yet? It may be a bit young for it, or there may be other problems brewing. I'm sorry, but it's just been too long since I've even handled a shark to do much better for you. However, since I'm the only one to answer you today, I'm gonna steer you towards WetWebMedia, you might find some helpful information there as well.

Do you know what species it is?

What are you trying to feed it?
