Im setting up this perfecto 75g reef ready tank. The first pic is the stand with the tank slid over a bit-- straight as an arrow. The second pic is the gap on the corner when I placed the tank on the stand. I slid the tank over the edge of the stand and placed a 48inch level under it. the tank seems warped by about a quarter inch! What should I do? Should I contact perfecto?

yeah I'd double check the level in every direction on your stand, check the level along the top of of the tank, measure the height of the tank at each of the corners, etc. Before making the accusations, but yeah I'd give them a call once you do all that so you're armed with outs in case they try to shift the blame back to you.

Here is a pic with a level on the top edge of the botom moulding. The moulding seems to be "bowed" down in the middle. The moulding is like this with the tank on or off the stand, upside down, or on its side. The other side is bowed slightly, but not that bad. I think it is a warped piece of plastic moulding on the bottom.

Ok, so the bottom moulding is bowed about a quarter inch. I noticed the bottom center support is flush with the bottom of the moulding. This is causing the tank to rock on the center support. I will call perfecto, but Im thinking this may be a normal kind of thing. It looks like most commercial stands only support on the corners and edges, so the center support can bow down without causing any issues.
I may just remove the wood from the center of the table so the center support will be "floating"

Have you tried setting the tank on the floor to see if it does that same thing. Ive built alot of things and installed a alot of cabinets. I typically use three levels and run them in at least eight directions when building something that has to be perfect. Youd be suprised at how using one level can be misleading, especially if its fallen over onto the floor. They bend and will read out of level pretty easily.

Yeh, even sat the tank on the floor and flipped it upside down. The tank is nice and flush upside down, but the bottom moulding is then bowed out in the middle(you can actually eye it up at this point) It Kinda looks like a slightly bowed 2 by 4. The level will rock back and forth on molding.
Even with the tank right side up, If you put a level on the top moulding, it is perfect-just the bottom is bowed.
I called perfecto and e-mailed them some pics. If it is a problem on my end, no big deal but it just seems so apparent at this point(the pics probably don't do justice) Their customer service was pretty good so far, but she told me about 10 times that the warr. is only 1 year with a homebuilt stand.

Take the piece of foam away and see how it looks. Glass tanks with plastic edging don't need the foam underneath.

Is it possible to get a planer to level the bowed out part? I'd imagine this would be tricky to do properly though.

After sending some pics to Perfecto I got an e-mail back from them today. They stated they needed to have the tank sent back to them. They are also going to send my LFS the exchange info so a replacement is ready for me to pick up.
I am very impressed with Kim at customer service. She was good on the phone and prompt at responding to my e-mail(less than 24 hours). Hopefully I will be able to get the new one this weekend.
I have only positive things to say about Perfecto so far. Every company will have an issue from time to time, Its all about how you handle them!

I picked up my replacement tank from Perfecto, and this one actually is Perfecto!
The first pic is the old tank, and the next 2 are the new "level" tank.

What is Prefecto's policy on foam, I know AGA sez no! The plastic rim must sit on a solid service only. and just on the perimeter.

When I stated to Kim at Perfecto about using foam, she said "thats good".
One of the reasons I am using foam is because I am very close to a munitions testing base(Aberdeen Proving Grounds) When they set off the monster bombs, the house shakes sometimes! I have a friend in LA and out there they usually use acrylic because of the tremors.
