BEST skimmer for 80g reef tank? What you think? Not just the most EXPENSIVE... but the BEST. Deltec? Eruroreef? Elos? MRC? AquaC? what?

OH IT MUST BE ABLE TO RUN EXTERNAL OF THE SUMP.

I'm a Deltec fan. Mine has worked like a champ, is quiet as skimmers go, and does an awesome job skimming.

FWIW, any European skimmer is probably not a good value these days due to the weak dollar

i talked to the guy at Deltec and he recommended the MC500 or even the turbo 1200. These things are smaller than most skimmers of the same rating and thats a big plus for me.

Also, I've heard that deltec doesn't blow their ratings up so that one rated for 10g would actually be useable on a 10g tank. Is this true?

cant go wrong with the deltec.... you get what you pay for in my opinion?

Deltec is rated "conservatively."

European is any skimmer made in europe Euro-reef, despite its name, is made in the USA.

A few of the more affordable recircs that come to mind...

The DAS EX-1 is similar to the Deltec and is generally well liked, but I hear of people having trouble with shipping damage:
