My lawnmower only ate film algae. At that's only if I didn't feed the tank for a few days. :)

Same here except it constantly eats diatoms.

I've gone through hair stages many times with all my tanks over the last 14 yrs and they solve the problem on their own as the tank matured.
However, when I set up the last 90g tank, the hair algae would not go away.
I purchased a product recommended by my LFS and members of our reefing club here, and after a week, their is hardly any hair algae left in it.
The product is called ROWAphos.
I placed it in one basket of a fluvol cannister filter, sandwiched between layers of poly material, and when first turned on my tank turned brown but soon cleared. (instructions warn ahead of time and specifiy do not rinse first.)
I'm not much of a believer in adding stuff to my tanks but at the moment, I sure do like what happened with this ROWAphos.

Yup! :P Rowaphos, and Phosban I believe have the same ingredient.

I just picked up 2 urchins. In fact, they are floating in the bag right now. We'll see what happens. :)

This was my experience of a lawnmower blenny years ago. That's why I raised the question. :P

Thanks all for your help! :)

urchins will strip off the coriline algae

Well, as long as they strip away the hair algae too, I'd be a happy camper. :P

Not sure on that but I know that two members in the local club used Phosban with no success and when they used ROWAphos, the problem was solved.

In my experience Phosban will cake a lot easier than Rowaphos. They both should be used with a reverse flow (bottom up) to prevent the product from compacting.
