I have had a feather duster for about a month or two and it has been doing great as far as i can tell. Just yesterday I was doing maintanence on my tank and water changes and stuff and I noticed one of my reef crabs was picking and eating its tube. So i took it off and moved it to the other end of the tank.

My question is: today it seems as if its sealed off the top of its tube...is this natural? is it dying? any ideas what its doing? O and i also tried running my protein skimmer so its been putting some bubbles in my water but im not sure if this would effect the feather duster at all.

thanks in advance.

Well, that's a good thing. sorry I didn't see this earlier, but my adivce would have been to wait and see. As long as it hasn't left the tube altogether there is hope.

Is this a hitchhiker or one that you purchased?
They are planktivores btw, and do well with feedings.

I purchased this one and have been using a few drops of Kent Micro-Vert every few days as directed on the bottle.

And its still alive, its just the opening looks like it wants to close but it somehow keeps poking through. Im beggining to think its just normal...
