it appears that my clown fish have laid some eggs.

I need advice and direction. I know nothing about raising them.

Will they survive in the tank if I do nothing.

Here is a pic.

they will not survive in your main tank. they will either become fish food or impeller fodder.

you will need a separate tank and lots of extras to raise them.

you'll need a separate cycled tank with sponge filter, and air bubble circulation, and most importantly, the fry will need live rotifers of several sizes. If you don't have the set up already, I would not bother trying to raise this brood- but read up and try to raise the next one if you are interested. Good sign that they laid eggs in your tank though- congrats!

There is a short 30-page book, "Clownfish and Sea Anemones" by Tullock that has a brief discussion of a rearing setup, or "Clownfishes" by Wilkerson has more detailed description of how to raise clowns...

FB,

There is a ton of how-to info out on the internet including step by step blogs. Go google "raising clownfish" and you'll come up with a lot of good stuff.

Good luck!

I picked up the book tonight and am going to start reading it.

I placed a piece of tile in the tank for them to spawn onto so that I can remove them the day before hatching. They didn't seem to mind and I came home from work today with another batch of eggs.

It is pretty cool knowing I have helped save some fish that were certain to die.

Anyway I have my first stripe.
