Just recently I am getting a huge outbreak of green algae in my tank and now it has crept up on my live rock. I moved my tank about a month and half ago due to selling our house. I kept half the 90 gallons and got half new water when I set it up in the new house. Currently there are no fish in the tank because we are moving again in two weeks. In the mean time I also upgraded to a 4 x 65w dual 10000K and dual actinic light. So I'm not sure if that's what is causing the outbreak or if it is the lack of fish. All that is in my tank is live rock and two anenomes. Any ideas how I can get rid of the algae? Are there any additives I can use? Thanks in advance.

Ok ill just tell you what I did for my 29 a few weeks ago...

15% water change every week.
Remove as much as you can.
2 Mexican turbo sanils.
16 astrea snails.
5 blue legs.
11 red legs.

Removed carbon.
Add ghosgard (removes phosphates and silicates).

If there is no corals lower light to 4 hours if there are corals go to 8 hours.

This is what I did to my hair :P and it was gone in 2-3 weeks.

Hope this helps!

Blow the rock and sand off with a turkey baster do regular waterchanges (25% or so) every week or so. It's a nutrient spike and you need to minimize the nutrients in the water column. Getting some snails like mentioned above is also a good idea.

If you moved the tank, you probably moved the sandbed around. That could cause the outbreak. Also, test your water. It may be dirty.
