Actually, I recant. I had a seahorse back when I was around 10 that I pulled out of the bay while catching bait. I got my parents to buy me a little 10g tank, and I was up and away. He even took to frozen brine shrimp right away. Of course, I knew nothing about salt water tanks. The filtration was some sort of HOB wheel filter, I never tested for anything, though I did have the foresight to do water changes. . .with water straight out of the bay of course. Tap water for top-off, and I don't remember ever having any algae problems. Of course, I lost everything about a year later (all dead in one day). My best guess is ammonia poisoning. I think I had at least 5 fish in that 10g tank.

Hmmm,

I remember seeing a blue damsel in an aquarium in a windowsill walking to school in 1967. My first marine aquarium animal purchase was a Asterias starfish for $2.95 in 1968.
