I am looking to purchase 90lbs of live rock online and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as far as price and quality. I have looked at marine depot and dr fosters, they both carry a premium show size figi and a standard figi. Thanks

hey i have been looking on craigs list in philly and have found several people breaking down tanks that had a decent amount of rock
do individual searches type in aquariums, fishtanks, corals, saltwater
you might find something worthwile and save a ton of money

I picked up a 45lb. box of fiji select and a 35lb box of base rock from Dr fosters about a year ago. The select was pretty good for the price. The base rock was exactly that though. Extremely dense and ugly. Not worth the $ IMO. I recommend getting most of what you need online and buy a few nice showy pieces from your LFS. Although, A friend of mine with all hand picked pieces from the LFS sure has ALOT of real nice rock.

Where ever you go online make sure you call and talk with them about what TYPE of rock you are looking for - shelfs, huge chunks, softball size chunks, coralline, etc. Premium aquatics and Dr. Forester smith will both work with you that way. Also, find out about shipping prices because they might make a special order from a LFS a better deal - even though they charge higher prices per lb.
