Just trying to see if I am the only one with an embarrasing story..

Once after a water change I had a garbage can on wheels sitting in the house with about 20 - 25 gallons of water in it. Dirty water might I add. Well my 2 year old super strong son started to climb it when I was putting something away. All I heard was a large crash and the sound of water. The majority of my house is tile, but where the tank is there is carpet. I flooded 3 rooms in all. 3 of which had carpet. Master bedroom formal living and formal dining room. Not to mention the entry way..

There is my story, now who can top that??????????????????????????

In aquariums no more than a gal or two, but back in the days of the original waterbeds I had a kingsize matress and liner spring a leak. It was alot of water.

I had several overflows when I built my 300G. Both saltwater overflows and RO unit malfunctions.

Twice I have had my RO unit overflow my storage container and run continuously for several days while I was out of town. Fortunately, the storage vessel is in the laundry room which abutts the garage. The floor slopes through the garage and to the driveway. So there was no damage.

One time i was sitting with my back to my wall mounted 90g and had water overflow out the front, kinda looked like a fancy water wall. Only a gallon or so. A huge snail went down the overflow box and up into the durso and clogged it so water backeup and out. 8O

I think npaden lost triple digit volume in his system. But in all fairness to the "competition," He has a huge tank and even bigger outdoor/she refugium.

You are a well prepared man. Sounds like when you set up your tank you thought of everything..

I just got lucky with the slope of the floor. Otherwise, my whole house could have been a mess.

When I built my DIY fuge I water tested it on the counter of my second floor apt. It sprang a leak and about 15 gallons ended up in the APT below mine. The handy man liked me and was forgiving (meaning they didnt evict us.). He was quite ticked though. I have also had two or three (they all start to blend) RO events in the laundry room recently, about 20 gallons or so. Fortunately for me it holds water in there like a swimming pool.

Oh, also, My brother put a golf club through the side of my old 70G freshwater. Fish all over. Fortunately I have always had two tanks.

My skimmer once overflowed a few gallons. No big deal? It happened during one night when Taipei was getting nailed by a large typhoon. The typhoon blew water, literally, through the windows. This combined with the skimate to make a 2-inch pond of scum in my living room. Yummy. :?

Had a return pump leak and lost about 65 gallons. This was the third one we had leak in a span of a few months, just about got out of the hobby over it.

the first day I moved into a 2 month sublet, I started making water. The fitting on the INPUT of my RODI broke. I happend to be on the couch with a beer. After moving all day I was tired and fell asleep.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT woke me up. the lady on the 1st floor called them.

I was on the 3rd or 4th.

I started the filter at 7pm or so and was woken up at 4am.

I don't even want to think about how many gallons.

I filled a gallery of a public aquarium ankle-deep less than an hour before opening.

I don't think I lost more than a few gallons but I once started the return pump thinking it was connected to the return plumbing. It flexed the plumbing enough - that was above the pump - to fire the stream straight into my neck and face. I was completely shocked "not electrically" but it took a second or two to move out of the stream and click off the power.

Thank god, I have Pergo in the room with the tank. Easy clean up. Couldn't see right for a while from the saltwater eyeball scrub.

So totally stupid too. I learned a lot from that fiasco.
