I have a 170G custom Oceanic, 56x24x29h. I have a Tunze Wavebox, a pair of 250w, 14k halides, an ASM skimmer, Velocity T4 return pump (1200gph, doubles as a heater).

Debating if I want a BB or SSB, I am leaning towards the SSB and a jawfish or 2.

Debating if I want to add a closed loop over the back or a small OM on the 2, 1" returns from the sump. I think I may skip the closed loop since I got the wavebox.

I will probably need a chiller :(
Have a pair of 300w heaters if needed...
Need to build a stand and canopy...
Need to build a sump...

What am I forgetting? Opinions?

LR and corals.

Depending on where you are in the world you may not need a chiller.
You are forgetting the hundreds of little things needed.
Refractometer, test kits, RO/DI water purifier, water storage bins for top off and make up, etc. etc.

Oh I have a 125 reef now - if you can call it a reef, more like a bryopsis infested tank. So far I have pulled most of the live rock and the hair algae has come off easily, just a small amount remains on the rocks which show a bit of coraline now.

All is being moved to a 75g with a BB and wavebox for 6 months or whenever I get the sump and stand/canopy built for the 170.

Really the only thing left to do is move 3 large pieces of rock, my lone fish and cleaner to the 75, then figure out what to do with the live sand for 6 months (see other thread) and I can break this 125 down before it comes apart at the seams (15 year old acrylic tank, lots of crazing)

Guess thats the long version...

In short, I have all the little details mostly. Just thinking of big items. Should add a Ca. reactor to the list I suppose. I am in Texas so the chiller is going to likely be needed especially with the hot return pump and halides. Only time will tell on that one.
