For a reef tank I wouldnt use any as the LR give plenty of bio-filtration, if its a FO then maybe, thats fine, but some people would fill them up higher.

I agree with Ben and Unarce.

I also hope you didn't cut the wood out from the stand just to take the pic too! 8O

haha. no that is the front where my door shuts. i didnt care what it looked like behind the door :)

You can convert it to a refugium. Just slap a PC on there and you can keep some additional LR, chaetomorpha, and some Hippoppus clams.

Take half the bio-balls out for a while, like a week then test your water see were you are at with the nitrates and trites, some surface is good andit hurt to keep half. trial and error keep the fuge it is a big plus :wink:
