I found someone who is willing to give me a good deal on a 36" hamilton hood. It has 2 - 175 watt metal halides and pc actinics. Does anyone know about the reliability of this product?

Do you think that it would be a better lighting choice then using just one 400 watt metal halide?

Hamiltons, IME, work fine and have no reliability issues. What size tank do you have? I would think two 175 would be better then a single halide in most regular situations.

Congrats on your good fortune!

I'm running the same over a 72g bow but thinking of stripping apart a 250w DE pendant and modding it into the hamilton to put in place of one of the 175s.

I had to mod in my actinics (dual 65s) what wattage will yours come with?

Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone have a good source for extremly quiet 4" fans?

I pick up the light fixture yesterday. It is fairly old and needs all new bulbs. the fans are also somewhat loud. The fans don't need to move alot of air since it is only 2-175 watt MH bulbs.
